TJ LeClair on the water in Muskoka
I’m TJ LeClair, and I’ve been fishing for over 25 years. Growing up with a family cottage in Muskoka, I’ve spent time fishing these lakes since I was a young kid.
Bass fishing is my specialty, particularly finding and targeting big fish. Over the past few years, I’ve dedicated myself to studying fishing techniques, understanding fish behaviour, and developing the skills that help me adapt on the water.
In 2027, I’m turning that lifelong passion into my first professional guiding season. I welcome everyone—from kids picking up a rod for the first time to experienced anglers looking to chase giants.
Some guests want a relaxed day on the lake. Others want to work on a specific technique or pursue their next personal best. Whatever brings you aboard, my aim is to make the trip enjoyable, share what I’ve learned, and give you practical knowledge to take into your own fishing.
I’ve spent years fishing the lakes of Muskoka, Ontario, developing a deep understanding of the area’s largemouth and smallmouth bass fisheries. Fishing has been a major part of my life since childhood, and over the years I’ve spent countless hours learning how Muskoka bass relate to seasonal patterns, structure, cover, weather conditions, and changing water temperatures.
My primary focus has been targeting trophy largemouth bass, and Muskoka has given me the opportunity to consistently catch fish that would be considered exceptional anywhere in Canada.
Beyond the numbers, my experience comes from spending extensive time on the water, experimenting with different techniques, locating overlooked areas, and learning how larger bass behave throughout the season. My goal has always been more than simply catching fish — I want to understand why they are there, what makes them bite, and how to consistently put myself around trophy-class fish.
Muskoka is an incredible fishery, and years of chasing bass throughout the region have given me extensive experience targeting some of the biggest largemouth the area has to offer.
